For 2006, Pontiac continues to expand its
reputation as the GM performance brand. With
the introduction of the Solstice Roadster, the
all-new Torrent, and the addition of the G6’s
Coupe and hard-top Convertible, Pontiac comes
to the table with a more powerful offering than
ever before.
The Grand Prix has long been seen as the most
versatile sport sedan in its class, combining
performance and fun into one package. The wide
front track of the GXP, with a Bilstein monotube
strut system and PBR brakes, helps the FWD handling
for the sedan, while its Magnasteer II power
steering uses electromagnetic technology to
adjust the steering forces, and included TAPshift
gives more control to the driver.
The Pontiac G6, in its second year, has already
proven itself as a good-looking and smart vehicle
to drive. With many available paths to choose
from, the G6 is truly a car you can make all
your own. The Sedan, the Coupe and the Convertible
all have their own special talents, each with
a variety of options to choose from engine,
to transmission, to accessories, but all three
have safety features abounding to bring confidence
to every ride.
The new Solstice roadster took the world by
storm, with combination of old-school design
and modern technology. A surprisingly roomy
interior in this two-seater, with its low stance
and exclusive rear decklid, provides a seamless
appearance with the top down. With pricing starting
at under $20,000, it’s a tough act to
beat!
